Într-o perioadă în care conținutul muzical generat de inteligența artificială inundă platformele de streaming, Spotify testează în versiune beta o funcție nouă numită „Artist Profile Protection”. Aceasta le permite artiștilor să verifice și să aprobe lansările înainte ca acestea să apară pe profilurile lor. Scopul instrumentului este de a le oferi artiștilor mai mult control asupra pieselor asociate cu numele lor pe platformă.
„Muzica ajunge uneori pe paginile greșite ale artiștilor pe serviciile de streaming, iar creșterea numărului de piese AI, ușor de produs, a agravat problema”, a explicat Spotify într-o postare pe blog. „Nu aceasta este experiența pe care ne-o dorim pentru artiștii de pe Spotify, motiv pentru care protejarea identității artistice a devenit o prioritate majoră pentru 2026. Astăzi anunțăm o soluție unică pentru o problemă care afectează streamingul de ani de zile.”
Artiștii incluși în testarea beta pot analiza lansările și pot decide dacă le aprobă sau le resping înainte de publicare. Doar piesele aprobate vor apărea pe profilul lor, vor contribui la statisticile oficiale și vor fi incluse în recomandările pentru utilizatori.

Anunțul Spotify vine la doar o săptămână după ce Sony Music a declarat că a solicitat eliminarea a peste 135.000 de melodii generate de AI care imitau artiștii săi pe platformele de streaming.
Spotify subliniază că, deși distribuția deschisă a făcut mai ușoară lansarea muzicii pentru artiștii independenți, aceasta creează și oportunități pentru erori sau abuzuri. Unele piese ajung pe profiluri greșite din cauza metadatelor incorecte, a confuziilor între artiști cu același nume sau a încercărilor intenționate de a atașa muzică unui anumit profil.
„Atunci când se întâmplă acest lucru, pot fi afectate catalogul, statisticile, playlistul Release Radar și modul în care fanii îți descoperă muzica”, explică Spotify. „Știm cât de frustrant poate fi acest lucru atât pentru artiști, cât și pentru fani, iar una dintre cele mai frecvente cerințe primite în ultimul an a fost dorința de a avea mai mult control înainte ca muzica să apară sub numele vostru.”
Spotify menționează că funcția nu este necesară pentru toți artiștii, ci este destinată în special celor care s-au confruntat frecvent cu lansări greșite, au un nume comun sau doresc un control mai strict asupra conținutului de pe profilul lor.
Artiștii incluși în programul beta vor găsi această opțiune în setările „Spotify for Artists”, atât pe desktop, cât și pe web mobil. Dacă activează „Artist Profile Protection”, vor primi notificări prin e-mail atunci când muzică nouă este încărcată pe platformă folosind numele lor, având apoi posibilitatea să aprobe sau să respingă publicarea.
