Thanks for the video Britnee! i’ve had my IMP for about a month now And I must say that I agree with most everything said in this video.  I’m still not even sure what the “cyclone airflow” does, if anything.

Experts shocked to learn that the Center for disease Control has...

Experts shocked to learn that the Center for disease Control has been taking MILLIONS of dollars from Big Pharma.

Why should you care?  well apart from big tobacco, Big pharma is the other huge threat to the future of vaping and e-cigs.

The following is from http://ift.tt/1cpoKt8

The US government’s Centers for Disease Control have been taking millions of dollars in drug company money in recent years, according to a news report in The British Medical Journal. Researchers in America and around the world expressed shock, and asked how the funding has been influencing CDC actions and decisions.

Maybe the actions like the recent report where the CDC was claiming a “Dramatic increase in e-cig related calls to the poison control center?”

Or when the CDC reported that “E-cigarette use triples among middle and high school students in just one year”

Now i’m certainly not calling those reports bogus, Factually inaccurate? possibly.  Funded by one of vaping’s biggest opponents? strong possibility.

The article goes on to say

Jerome R Hoffman, a methodologist and emeritus professor of medicine at UCLA, told The BMJ, “Most of us were shocked to learn the CDC takes funding from industry. Of course it is outrageous that industry apparently is allowed to punish the CDC if the agency conducts research that has the potential to cut into profits. But it was our government that made this very bad arrangement, so the way to fix it is not to ask the CDC to ‘pretty please be more ethical, and avoid conflicts of interest’; rather, as a society, we have to get the government to reject this devil’s bargain, by changing the rules so this can no longer happen.”

That industry apparently is allowed to punish the CDC if the agency conducts research that has the potential to cut into profits?!? wow, just wow.  I’m somewhat floored ( yet not surprised ) at that statement.  Certainly a PRO vaping report could certainly cut into the profits of pharmaceutical companies.

Interesting information no?

Please forgive me if i’m reading this incorrectly.  But from...

Please forgive me if i’m reading this incorrectly.  But from what this article says, it seems that Mitch Zeller is being a bit more reasonable regarding nicotine and e-cigarettes?

This New York Times article starts off with a quote from Mr Zeller saying
“We need a national debate on nicotine,” said Mitch Zeller.

The Article talks about the “tobacco wars” of the 90′s and Zeller’s insanely successful TRUTH campaign.  The article also goes over the whole “we just don’t know what’s in them” talk that were all used to.

Then at the end there is this other quote from Zeller

“When nicotine is attached to smoke particles, it will kill,” said Zeller. “But if you take that same drug and put it in a patch, it is such a safe medicine that it doesn’t even require a doctor’s prescription.” That paradox helps explain why he believes “there needs to be a rethink within society on nicotine.”

And the article ends with this

It’s not that Zeller believes nicotine is perfectly safe (he doesn’t) or that we should shrug our shoulders if teenagers take up vaping. He believes strongly that kids should be discouraged from using e-cigarettes.

Rather, he thinks there should be a recognition that different ways of delivering nicotine also come with different risks. To acknowledge that, and to grapple with its implications, would be a step forward.

“This issue isn’t e-cigarettes,” said Mitch Zeller. “It’s nicotine.”

To me,  (Nick) this is an incredibly powerful statement.  All we had heard from Zeller and the FDA previously was “BAN BAN BAN KIDS KIDS KIDS FLAVORS FLAVORS FLAVORS”

Now it seems as though they are saying “Ok, before we rush into anything, lets have an actual open discussion of vaping and nicotine, and see what is REALLY going on”

Now I know we are trained to STAND UP against the FDA and Mitch Zeller, but I also think we need to be open to the idea that it is possible for the FDA and Mitch Zeller to change their mind on the subject.

The 6 “most effective” ways to quit smoking.  From what I can...

The 6 “most effective” ways to quit smoking.  From what I can only assume are non smokers

For 50 yeas we have known that smoking can kill you.  It is still the leading cause of preventable death in the U.S. and yet 42.1 million people light up and new smokers start every day.“Smoking is my best friend,” Atlantan Barry Blackwell said. “It’s always with me long after friends have left and people have gone, they are always here”

To help people who do want to quit, scientists have looked with great interest into what works. Especially since studies have shown that 90 percent of those who try to quit, will start smoking again despite their best efforts. Here are some options that have been scientifically proven to work, at least some of the time.

I’m not going to copy / Paste this whole article here,  But you can read the whole thing using the link at the bottom.  The main bullet points of the article are

Financial incentives

Financial benefit from quitting, may be your best bet – literally – particularly if you risk losing your own money.

Cold turkey

Only the most disciplined among us can quit without any help. Studies show only about 4-7% can do it without any additional help.

Find company

Love can help you through, according to a recent study that ran in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)

Inhalers, nasal sprays, lozenges, gum and skin patches that deliver nicotine slowly are designed to help smokers get over the initial cravings and symptoms of withdrawal. And they do seem to help.

Prescription drugs

Talk to your doctor if you want to take the prescription route, but there are some drugs that seem to have some success, especially if used with an NRT

And last but not least they touch on e-cigs

E-cigarettes

The jury is still out on this method. (WHAT?! pumping you full of prescription drugs is just fine though)

In 2014, a study that ran in the British journal the Lancetfound of the 657 people trying to quit over a period of six months, e-cigarettes did help about 7.3% to quit. That was more than the 5.8% of the people in the study who used a patch. What stood out most to the study’s authors was that so few the people were successful quitting using any method. They concluded more research is urgently needed.

Another group that presented their research at the American Thoracic Society Conference this month found that while some people did quit using e-cigarettes rather than regular cigarettes, they didn’t necessarily quit for good. Looking at more than a thousand people who wanted to quit, the authors found those who had more success quitting in the short term used e-cigarettes, but this effect was no longer observed at three- or six-month followups.

TLDW: The Atlantis V2 is great.  Part of what makes
it great is the new cotton coil heads, which will also
work in your Atlantis V1 tank and base.

The V2 has more airflow in both the top and bottom.
as well as a bigger capacity tank (3ml)

Overall not leaps and bounds better, but certainly
a step in the right direction

The NAMI RDA from BayCityVapor.com

Starting today i’m going to be posting my new review videos on GrimmGreen.com. For a long time I had an “archived videos” link. That literally no one seems to use.  After all, when you come to GrimmGreen.com , I feel like you should see GrimmGreen videos.  Done and Done…

Now then..

I received this product at no charge from the vendor for the purpose of doing a video,  Therefore it has no monetary value to me.  This video is my opinions and experiences with the product, and is in no way intended to be the final hammer of judgment.

The NAMI atomizer from BayCityVapor

TLDW: Without knowing a price, it’s going to be
a tough call on this.

It has a unique deck, not wonky, just unique.
it has a bit of a learning curve involved.
it’s got tons of airflow options, and the overall
fit and finish is very well done.

I’m just not a fan of the way it looks.  I know
WHY it has to look the way it does, I just wish
it was a bit more appealing.

Eventually it will be for sale here

An Estimated Half A Million Brits Have Switched From Real Cigarettes To E-Cigarettes In The Last Year

An Estimated Half A Million Brits Have Switched From Real Cigarettes To E-Cigarettes In The Last Year:

In the last year alone, an estimated half a million people in Britain have switched from smoking real cigarettes to vaping e-cigarettes. Many consider this to be a much healthier and cleaner alternative to smoking.

At the beginning of 2014, the Action on Smoking and Health organization, known as ASH, reported that there were 2.1 million vapers in Britain. Now there are more than 2.6 million, according to reports.

While ASH sees e-cigs as a good thing to help people give up tobacco, they also warned of a “worrying” increase in people falsely believing they are as harmful as or even more dangerous than regular cigarettes.

Research carried out at King’s College London found that electronic cigarette use increased among ex-smokers from 4.5 percent in 2014 to 6.7 percent in 2015.

These days, it’s all about smoking different flavors of e-juice from tank model e-cigarettes, as opposed to the old style “cigalikes,” which were more primitive and reportedly less satisfying.

It’s not all good news either for vapers; researchers have found some of the flavorings in e-juice contain potentially harmful levels of chemicals.

Deborah Arnott, the chief executive of ASH, said, ‘The number of ex-smokers who are staying off tobacco by using electronic cigarettes is growing, showing just what value they can have. But the number of people who wrongly believe that vaping is as harmful as smoking is worrying.”

She added, “The growth of this false perception risks discouraging many smokers from using electronic cigarettes to quit and keep them smoking instead which would be bad for their health and the health of those around them.”

At the same time, Dr. Leonie Brose, from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London, told reporters that smokers need to be educated about the relatively healthier option of vaping over smoking, saying, “We must clearly communicate the relative safety of electronic cigarettes to smokers.”

E-Cig Debate Should Focus on ‘Issues That Really Matter’FDA’s Zeller acknowledges potential of therapeutic nicotine

Via: CSPNET.COM

NEW YORK – As with his presentation at the NATO Show, Mitch Zeller’s appearance at the Smoke-Free Alternatives Trade Association (SFATA) Conference centered on the concept of a continuum of risk when it comes to nicotine and tobacco products. The director of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) went so far as to say the pro-vaping attendees were “preaching to the choir” when they called for a change in rhetoric for the debate over electronic cigarettes.

Attendee Bonnie Herzog, Wells Fargo’s senior tobacco analyst, said that Zeller agreed the societal debate needs to focus on “issues that really matter,” like the role e-cigs could potentially play in harm reduction. The current e-cig/vaping debate has zeroed in on issues like youth usage, flavors and marketing. Though Herzog acknowledged these points are “undoubtedly very important,” she expressed concerns that they are “diverting attention from the bigger-picture issues.”

“Encouragingly, Director Zeller underscored the importance of ‘opening up the dialogue’ across various stakeholders in the nicotine space, suggesting to us that he and the agency remain committed to using science and data to shape regulation while recognizing the nicotine continuum of risk, which is consistent with his previous comments,” she continued in a research note.

Spring Lake Park to Buck the Trend When it Comes to E-Cig...

Spring Lake Park to Buck the Trend When it Comes to E-Cig Regulations

Across the state, seven counties and 18 cities have chosen to limit electronic cigarette use. Now, one city is likely moving in the opposite direction.

Spring Lake Park is amending its tobacco ordinance. Other places already have; for instance, Minneapolis, Edina, Bloomington and Duluth have all banned using e-cigs indoors. But in Spring Lake Park, the amendment would clarify existing rules and make it clear that e-cigs are allowed.

“If I could take back anything I ever did in my life that was stupid, I’d have never started smoking cigarettes,” city councilman Bob Nelson said. He’s smoked cigarettes for a long time, but by using an e-cigarette, he says he went from a pack a day to a pack a week.

“I’m just hoping that by doing this, it’s used the right way, and it gives people the tools to get off them damn cigarettes,” he said.

That’s not a universal opinion. For example, the Minnesota Department of Health says they have concerns about the marketing of e-cigs to youth. They add that a 2014 survey showed that 28.4 percent of high school students had tried e-cigarettes and 57.4 percent of high school students had seen television ads for e-cigarettes within the last 30 days.

Regardless, the ordinance is good news for stores like Dick’s Vape Shop. They no longer have to worry about their Spring Lake Park store going up in smoke. Of course, their other locations could still be a different story.

“It’s a bit of a load off my shoulders to not have to worry so much about Spring Lake Park,” Manager Mike Huber said. “But I mean that’s … the battle doesn’t quite end there.”

Nelson says it’s very likely the Spring Lake Park ordinance will pass; that could happen as soon as next month.
